Loving Your Beautiful Baby Bump with Art Bellies

The Owners of Art Bellies, a loving couple, are members of the Posh Parent Network. They were kind enough to answer the call of one of my requests for new products for expecting parents. I have to say, this is one of the most clever and creative ways to cherish the lovely baby bump for years through art.

I have been a fan of belly casting however, my husband is very conservative and doesn't like the thought of a "life-like" replica of my boobies and belly for all to see. When I really think of it though, I don't know that I would want a belly cast of me just hanging around the house for years. A photo, or like this kit-a painting, is much more artistic and ways to display.

I am always pleased to meet parents who invent something fabulous--we really are the creators with the most insight since we ourselves find these voids in the market. Here is some of what the owners had to say about their product: "The idea behind Art Bellies is simple. We want you to be able to creatively capture your pregnancy. We offer kits that include everything you need to create elegant works of art using your pregnant body as the theme. Our goal is that you end up with something deeply personal yet bold and beautiful art that looks as good hanging in your living room as it does in your baby nursery. Think of these kits like artistically photographing your pregnant belly. But instead of recording the realistic, you will explore the abstract by playing with form and motion and by focusing on color, lines, and negative space. Making Art Bellies is an elegant alternative to black and white photos, to traditional belly casting and to henna tattooing."

One way you can choose to use the kit is to create a silhouette of your growing belly like this one here

Or, like me, you can choose to do yours when you are getting close!

Either way, there are lots of kits to choose from like Fire, Earth, Air or Water--the Elements! Each Art Bellies Kit specifically includes:

1 sheet of colored handmade paper

2 sheet of white handmade portrait paper
6 sheets of practice newsprint paper

a 1" sheep's hair calligraphy brush

a 2" sheep's hair calligraphy brush

a 1 oz vial of Japanese Sumi-e Ink

2 colored packets of earthen ochre
1 ceramic paint dish

and our full instruction booklet

All Art Bellies kits are 100% natural and eco-friendly

Perfect for creative pregnancy gifts and baby showers

All products are handmade in rural New Hampshire.

This is a product review for Art Bellies. This post was not compensated for however, in order to provide you with the most honest opinion, I did receive the kit free of charge for the standard review process.
