Sam’s opened at 5am starting with breakfast—FREE breakfast. I admit, as much as I wanted to be there at 5am to eat, I couldn't’t make the early AM trek there because it is over an hour from home for me—and me+driving in the dark=getting lost. Trust me, it would have been awful. I waited until at least the sun rose and headed over to my Sam’s. I didn’t last more than 30-45 minutes there after getting bumped in the bump, again. I guess I have to tell you the WHOLE story of my Black Friday fiasco.
Bumped in the bump, that’s right—I was bumped with a cart at Target. OUCH is all I can say. My belly button still hurts. It’s crazy out there when it comes to sales. Women and shopping are a dangerous combination to begin with but, add in killer deals and BAM! People get hurt, innocent, pregnant people! lol No local deaths or serious injuries to report in my neck of the woods. We all know there is someone hurt somewhere from the mad rush.
Back to Sam’s Club and why the Holiday Blitz of 2009 was a huge success. 1st of all, they made is easy! Letting us bloggers leak the special pricing, letting you all shop early and pricing the hottest things out there at the best prices. The free breakfast which consisted of fresh fruit, muffins, yogurts and juices and coffee was a total bonus. Better yet, you could take home some of the delicious treats to enjoy again later at the everyday low prices of their bakery department.
The thing that impressed me the most was the professionalism and enthusiasm of the Sam’s employees during the blitz. They all seemed genuinely happy to be at work that day. They were ready and willing to help and the tables holding all the electronics were well manned for quick service. Better yet, if you were shopping for one of the enormous HDTV’s they were selling, they had them all lined up on wheeled carts ready to go! How sweet is that? You didn’t have to worry about grabbing one of those flatbed carts and trying to pummel through the crowd, the hard work was already done for you—all you had to do was grab and go pay! That seemed to be the hottest buy that day.
Overall, I am glad that I was able to go check out the holiday blitz for myself, while I did most of my shopping online, it was fun to be a part of the festivities and fun of Sam’s.
