If you are reading this post and you are from Johnstown or Gloversville, New York--prepare yourself to be insulted {maybe not} LOL

When I moved here, I knew that it was a small town, an old town, and a sorta "depressed" town--whatever--I am not one to let things get to me and really, the crime rates here are like ZERO! I think the biggest issue here is lame asses calling the cops to report a barking dog. Anyway, I was optimistic considering my home is gorgeous and cost us what a 500 sq. ft. condo would in Cali. The town is as old as dirt and even with all the complaining I can do, it is still safe and nice to live in...lots of sweet old people {I love old ppl--I am weird like that}
My biggest gripe is the lack of pride of ownership. Nearly everyone owns their home here yet about 50% of the homes need a paint job to say the least. Granted the weather here is pretty crazy in the winter, it does cost a small fortune to maintain your property. Paint is not expensive. Considering the instant face life you can give your house by painting it, the return is way worth it.
So, someone must share my sentiments at Glidden because they are holding a NATIONAL FREE PAINT GIVEAWAY
Here is how the free paint giveaway works:
-Register for the Glidden free paint giveaway online at www.glidden.com, or call 1-800-GLIDDEN anytime between June 25, 2009 - July 2, 2009.
-Select from any of Glidden's 282 beautiful (and durable) paint colors.
That's all there is to it! The hardest part will be picking a color for me :)
The Glidden website states that your free quart of paint will be sent to you. It does not indicate if you will receive the actual paint, or a coupon for it's purchase. More details should be released when the promotion begins TODAY!!!
To find a Glidden paint retailer near you, and to take advantage of the Glidden free paint giveaway, visit the Glidden website at www.glidden.com
I know that 1 quart is not nearly enough to finish most projects but, it is a great start! :) Now, I am off to go plaster this all over my town--hopefully some people will get motivated! ;)

Just wanted to say thanks for the tip. I got on to the site and ordered my free paint. Yay! It's a start for something new.
Although I'm not interested in the paint, your comments about this area are SO true. :-)
